Swisslog
A workplace to support flexibility, connection, and future growth.
Swisslog’s UK Collaboration Hub
Swisslog, a global leader in logistics automation, already had a fantastic culture of flexible working but their UK office wasn’t designed for it so was being underused.
Recognising the need for a space that could support evolving ways of working, Swisslog turned to Blueprint to reimagine their Redditch Collaboration Hub with a clear focus on their people, culture, and long-term goals.
A Design Grounded in Real Insights
We began with consultancy – listening, observing, and engaging directly with employees across the organisation. Through on-site sessions, Q&As and team workshops, we uncovered what people needed from their space:
- A stronger sense of identity, belonging, and purpose
- Flexible, multi-use zones for a variety of tasks
- Informal settings to spark connection and conversation
- On-site meeting and training facilities to bring people together
This insight guided every design move. Rather than starting from scratch, we worked with the existing layout, unlocking its potential to support a more dynamic, people-focused way of working.
From Fixed Desks to Flexible Experiences
At the heart of the design was a move from a fixed desk-based setup to an activity-based workplace.
Whilst transformation was essential, sustainability was also key priority, so we reused and reconfigured existing elements to reduce waste where possible.
The new design introduced a variety of settings for focus, collaboration, socialising and team workshops.
This gave people more freedom to choose how they work, while encouraging natural interactions and more cross-team connection.
A Destination, Not Just an Office
Key transformations included:
- A vibrant work café that encourages informal conversations and breaks, helping build a stronger sense of community.
- Flexible desk zones supporting individual focus and collaborative hybrid work, with space to grow and adapt as needed.
- New meeting and training spaces equipped with AV setups for hosting events, workshops and client sessions on-site.
- Brand-aligned graphics and design elements incorporating soft tones, natural textures and plants to create a warm, welcoming feel.
A Collaborative Project
Throughout the project Swisslog’s team remained engaged and open, helping shape their new space around real needs and insights.
This collaborative spirit meant the final design not only looks good, but truly works for the people who use it every day.
The result is more than just a workspace. It’s a collaboration hub that supports hybrid working, builds culture, and helps Swisslog’s people feel more connected to each other, their clients, and the company’s purpose.
“We had a clear vision for how we wanted our teams to be able to work at our UK collaboration hub – more flexibly, collaboratively, and with stronger connections across the business. Blueprint took the time to truly understand our culture, our people, and what we needed from our workplace.
The process felt collaborative from start to finish. They listened, challenged, and delivered a space that genuinely supports the way we work today. It’s a space our teams want to be in that brings people together and reflects who we are.”
