Nottingham City Business Club’s Christmas lunch is back on 8th December this year at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena with a legendary guest speaker – former England cricketer and TV personality Phil Tufnell!
We’re excited to be going along as proud NCBC members, and are also supporting the event as a sponsor.
Nottingham City Business Club was established in 1924 and is held in high regard by the local business community for its monthly networking lunches – with guest speakers covering a range of business topics and subjects of local interest.
The Club’s Christmas events have become legendary within the city – attracting a wide range of celebrity guest speakers over the years including Gyles Brandreth, Christopher Biggins, Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards and Toyah Wilcox.
This year’s speaker, Phil Tufnell, won 42 caps for England and took over 1,000 first-class wickets during an illustrious playing career. He’s also known for his 12 year stint as captain on the BBC’s ‘A Question of Sport’, as well as regular appearances on Test Match Special and being crowned King of the Jungle on ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’.
He’s a popular personality with all age groups, amassing 250k followers on Instagram and 355k followers on Twitter, while often being referred to as the ‘funniest guy in sport’.
The event will be hosted at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham with registration, drinks and networking from 11:30 and lunch at 12:30 – which includes a three-course meal with coffee – alongside a raffle, games and live auction.
The event is open to both members and guests and will finish at 16:00 with the option to continue the conversation at Saltbox Bar next door as the Club kicks starts its centenary celebrations.
