Blueprint Interiors to Sponsor CAPs Golf Day in Aid of ‘Our Dementia Choir’
On Thursday 29th September, members of the East Midlands business community will come together to take part in the annual CAPs (construction and property) charity golf day at Springwater Golf Club in Calverton. This year, the event will raise much needed funds for ‘Our Dementia Choir’.
Our Dementia Choir began as part of a BBC documentary where actress Vicky McClure sets out on a personal journey to discover the true extent of music’s power in combatting dementia.
Vicky, who’s grandmother died with the condition in 2015, formed the choir of people living with dementia in her home town of Nottingham. Having seen the amazing calming effect that music had on her Nana, Vicky wanted to see whether music could make an impact in other peoples’ lives too.
After seeing the immeasurably positive effect the choir had on its members, they continued to meet after the show aired.
On the day, teams will get to hear more from Our Dementia Choir on the work they do, and the impact it has. Our Dementia Choir themselves will also perform once the teams have completed the course. We’re very much looking forward to seeing them there on the day.
