Roythornes is a leading solicitors’ firm with a long-standing presence in Nottingham. As the team grew, the firm needed a workplace that could raise the everyday experience for staff and create the right impression for clients.

Where we started

The new 3,291 sq ft office at the EastWest Complex gave Roythornes a strong start. The location kept the team close to their previous office, while adding the things that make a working day easier: better amenities, a standout reception and convenient parking.

Our first job was to understand how the Nottingham team actually needed to use the space. We looked at the activities happening across the working day, from focused legal work and confidential conversations to client meetings and team catch-ups.

There were practical details to resolve too, including adapting existing mechanical systems and infrastructure. We liaised with the landlord on Roythornes’ behalf, keeping communication clear and the project moving smoothly.

Where we focused

The goal was to make the office feel like a genuine step forward for the team. Roythornes wanted a workplace that would encourage people in, support better collaboration and help build culture during a period of growth. The space needed to feel professional enough for client work, but warm enough for everyday team life. So did client confidence. The office needed to give Roythornes a setting they could feel proud to invite people into, whether for meetings, events or longer conversations.

What changed

Roythornes now has a modern Nottingham office that works harder for the people using it.

A functional kitchen gives the team a proper place to pause. Collaborative spaces make it easier for colleagues to connect during the day. Client areas feel smart, welcoming and reflect the quality of work happening inside them.

Since opening, the benefits have been clear: more people coming into the office more often, better collaboration, more comfortable break spaces and a stronger sense of pride when clients visit.

The new office has also supported Roythornes’ ability to attract and retain talent, and improved interaction with other tenants in the building, helping the team feel part of a wider city-centre business community.
