When Gleeds made a strategic move into central Nottingham, the new office needed to be more than a postcode change. It needed to be a central hub that reflected Gleeds’ global brand, supported local communities and made hybrid working feel easy.

Where we started

Gleeds had already worked with us on its Manchester and Bristol offices, so there was a strong design language to build on.

The Nottingham move to 11 Station Street gave the team a prominent new base beside the train station, with better access for colleagues, clients, consultants and the wider supply chain.

The brief was clear: create a high-quality modern workplace over 11,000 sq ft that could support different workstyles, improve wellbeing and bring people together more often.

Where teams previously had limited workspace options, the new office needed to offer real choice. Places to focus. Places to meet. Places to pause. Places to bring clients into with pride.

Where we focused

The goal was to turn the office into a versatile working landscape. We focused on creating distinct settings for different parts of the working day. The reception and meeting rooms make a strong first impression, while a series of lounges give colleagues and visitors more ways to use the space. The Social Lounge gives people somewhere to eat, gather informally, work away from the open-plan area and come together for town hall meetings. The Street-Side Lounge supports client arrivals, quiet work and smaller meetings. The canal-side lounge adds a softer, more relaxed setting with views over Nottingham Canal. Collaboration was built in at every level. The main boardroom supports meetings of 20-plus people, with acoustic treatment, flexible speakers and two large screens for in-person and global working. The Radcliffe Room gives teams an open space for screen sharing, collaboration and non-confidential client meetings. For quieter work, the focus and learning space supports document reviews, video calls and concentrated tasks, with pods available when people need a little more privacy.

What changed

Gleeds now has a modern Nottingham office that works much harder for the way people actually use the workplace.

The open-plan area offers flexible seating options. Booths with acoustic surrounds give teams extra collaboration space. A dedicated resources hub keeps printing, drinks and day-to-day essentials in one practical place.

The design also brings Gleeds’ brand to life through distinctive colour schemes, feature lighting, acoustic panels and biophilic planting. Smart, practical and full of personality. Quite the upgrade from limited workspace options.

The result is a central city hub that supports flexible working, strengthens team connection and gives Gleeds a workplace built around access, collaboration and wellbeing.
"Blueprint Interiors previously collaborated with Gleeds UK leadership to establish a unified yet distinctive office style in Bristol and Manchester. Their support in workplace design and consulting throughout our move to 11 Station Street has been instrumental in shaping this strategic decision."
