What we did

UK Anti-Doping plays a vital role in creating confidence in clean sport across the UK and beyond. As the organisation looked ahead, it needed a workplace that could support hybrid working, bring people together and give the team room to grow.

Where we started

UKAD needed an office that could earn the commute.

After Covid, the team knew focused work could happen easily at home. The bigger challenge was creating a workplace that made collaboration, knowledge-sharing and team connection feel natural again.

The move to SportPark was a smart one. The building’s Passivhaus approach gave UKAD an energy-efficient base, while the location placed the organisation alongside other sports bodies at the UK’s leading university for sport.

Our job was to help turn that opportunity into a working environment that felt inspiring, practical and properly future-ready. The space needed to reflect UKAD’s brand and mission, support a growing employee base of 60-plus people and work for a team with different needs across different days.

Where we focused

The goal was to create a workplace that people would want to use, not feel obliged to use. Flexibility was key. The office needed to support focused tasks, hybrid meetings, full-team collaboration and visitors from other locations. So we shaped the space around choice, with 24 rise-and-fall workstations, generous walkways, configurable meeting rooms and a large town hall area for team-wide connection. Accessibility mattered too. Every detail needed to help people move through the space comfortably and work in the way that suited them best. Sustainability was woven through the project from the start. The building had already set a high bar through its Passivhaus concept, so the fit out needed to respect that. We specified recyclable materials wherever possible and chose hard-wearing soft furnishings that complemented the brand and the wider building. And because people asked for more greenery, we brought it in. Natural planting and moss walls help soften the space, creating a calmer, more relaxed feel that nods to the sustainable building around it.

What changed

UKAD now has a Loughborough HQ built for the way its people work today, and the way the organisation wants to grow tomorrow.

The new office supports hybrid working without losing the value of being together. Teams have places to focus, meet, share knowledge and gather as one. Visitors have a space that reflects UKAD’s credibility and purpose. Future colleagues have a workplace that feels modern, accessible and connected to the heart of UK sport.
"We definitely chose the right partner to help us with this project as they communicated well and in a language we could fully understand. All the team at Blueprint Interiors have an exceptional eye for design."
