Wellbeing: Healthy Staff, Healthy Business – Lessons Learned in Lockdown

Posted in:

One of the core principles of our workplace design ethos is to create inspiring places for people to work. As people begin to plan their return to work a lot of businesses are rethinking their needs and discussing how to create compelling reasons for their most valued asset – their people – to return to work safely.

As well as seeking reassurances that they will be safe, employees are looking for evidence, that after such a considerable period of working from home, that their workplace health and mental wellbeing is given priority. This is something we consider in great depth during our design discussions. We also reference the WELL Building standard and utilise tools from the “Human Givens” model and the “WeThrive” platform to discover what employees need and how they feel.

As a company, Blueprint Interiors has been very vocal in sharing these key messages. Recently, our founder and CEO, Rob Day was interviewed by workplace wellbeing consultant Sue Grogan for an e-book in which she reflects on the lessons that key employers have learned from their lockdown experience, and feedback received from employees who have been working from home.

Rob’s interview focuses on how different the workplace environment will look and feel post covid and is featured on page 31 of Sue’s book. It’s somewhat reassuring that the message we have been conveying for many years, which has simply been accelerated by the effects of Covid, has at long last reached the very top of the board agenda.

We are pleased to say that the book is now available for other businesses to buy via a direct download Sue’s website.

The e-book costs £12, but Sue has pledged to donate 50% of the proceeds to Alex’s Wish, a Leicestershire charity raising funds for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

If you don’t wish to buy the book and would like to make a voluntary contribution of £6 or more, head over to the Alex’s Wish website.

We’ve been transforming office spaces across the East and West Midlands for nearly 20 years and have recently refurbished our offices WorkLife Central.  We’re encouraging the wider East Midlands business community to come and visit us to explore and experience first hand how a well-designed office looks, feels, and functions. Why not get in touch and book your visit?
