My main responsibility is to be creative! Concepts and ideas are at the forefront of my role. Often I will be given a blank space and an aim from the client to what they want to achieve and it’s my responsibility to turn that into a fantastic space that not only is visually appealing but also practical and functional.
Presenting ideas, plans, 3D visuals, product and finish specifications comes with every project but designing something that the client hadn’t thought of or didn’t think possible is where the role of designer unlocks the amazing potential for any space.
What’s your background?
I am originally from the North east where I grew up, I knew I loved design from an early age and instead of continuing to sixth form I decided to go to Art college to study Interior, Architecture and Product Design. After reaffirming my passion for design I moved to Leeds where I gained my BA in Interior Architecture at which point I was itching to get into the industry. Since then I have worked designing everything from bars and restaurants to hotels rooms, universities, care homes and even dipped into landscaping!
What do you like most about working at Blueprint?
Although we are workplace experts it seems too small of a phrase for the projects Blueprint do.
The variety and diversity of ‘workspaces’ seem endless; A call centre is not the same as an accountants, a tech company is not the same as an architects. Each fall under the banner of a ‘workspace’ but each have different styles of working and hold individual values meaning every brief I receive is blank canvas to create something different. No two days are the same!Blueprint Team
