Partnership deal with global leader in office furniture sits well with Blueprint Interiors

Signing a new partnership deal with the world’s leading office furniture company is set to open up new markets for Diseworth-based Blueprint Interiors.

Blueprint has teamed up with global leader Steelcase and is confident the new alliance will bring new business opportunities.

US-owned Steelcase, which designs and manufactures workplace furniture, architecture and technology products, has a network of more than 650 independent authorised dealers in over 850 locations across the world.

Founded in 1912 and based in Michigan it employs 13,000 people globally and reported annual revenue of $3.2 billion in 2009. Steelcase has more than 500 product lines, holds in excess of 1200 active patents worldwide and has served 80,000 clients over the past five years.

Robert Day, managing director of Blueprint said Steelcase was his company’s ideal business partner, with the deal enabling Blueprint to apply global resources and knowledge at local and regional level.

He said: “It’s a very exciting move for us. Steelcase operates in a vast global market supplying internationally known customers but likes to work closely with its dealers at local level. This partnership is an ideal fit and serves as an excellent platform for Blueprint as we take the business forward.”

Blueprint – who lists Speedo, Eon and Ibstock Brick among its East Midlands clients – offers a comprehensive package of bespoke interior services which include refreshing reception areas and offices and specifying workstation, seating and storage requirements.

Among its recent high profile projects was designing the office layout and sourcing lighting at Cooper Parry’s new 9,000 sq ft state of the art offices at Colton Square in Leicester.

Now in its eighth year, Blueprint was also recent involved in the evaluation and selection of office space for new media businesses THA Group in Leicester and Key Parker in Lutterworth. It has also completed turnkey design projects for companies which include Fleet Auction Group as well as primary schools across Leicestershire.

Robert Day added: “We are increasingly involved in project management, working with developers to help occupiers of new-build commercial and office space visualise their office layout and design requirements from the outset.”

“Like many businesses involved in the commercial property sector we have had to consolidate during the current downturn but thanks to our flexibility and capabilities we have been able to identify and secure new opportunities in new and different areas such as the education sector.”
